No. Once the CloudRaker AI Companion Robot is paired, there is no button to hold and no remote to pick up — your child simply says the wake phrase “Hi, Tuya”, the robot answers “I'm here”, and the conversation starts. Even a six-year-old can do it on their own. If it stops responding, the cause is almost always the Wi-Fi connection rather than the robot itself.
The CloudRaker AI Companion Robot sends each question up to the cloud and speaks the answer back, so response speed depends on your Wi-Fi. With a strong signal it replies quickly; with a weak one it can feel slow. First, make sure your router is on 2.4 GHz — the robot does not connect to 5 GHz networks, and your phone and the robot must be on the same Wi-Fi band during setup. If it still feels slow after that, move it closer to your router, remove thick walls or metal furniture in between, and confirm the connection in the app. In nearly every case we have seen, fixing the Wi-Fi fixes the speed.
It is built for conversation, learning and play: talking with your child, telling stories, practising any of 61 languages, and helping with maths and homework questions out loud. It is not a general-purpose assistant like the app on your phone — it works within a curated set of kid-safe skills. That limit is deliberate: the smaller the capability surface, the safer it is for a child.
No. All AI features are included in the purchase price — there is no subscription and no monthly fee. Once you own it, talking to it never costs extra.
Yes. The text of every conversation — what your child asked and how the robot answered — is available in the Smart Life app, and you can delete the conversation history permanently at any time. It syncs by default rather than as a setting you have to switch on, and your child cannot hide a conversation from you.
It does not keep a recording. The audio is converted to text and then discarded, so what you see in the Smart Life app is the conversation text, not a stored voice recording. The robot also has no access to open web browsing.

The robot is excellent! It was set up quickly and speaks in different languages. We bought it for our child's birthday and he is simply delighted with this toy. The package was received even earlier than the expected date and was very well packed. Many thanks to the seller!
It is a very good product. I bought it for an informative adult chat and it works perfectly. The only thing is that in the Free to chat mode, the robot "interrupts" and responds before finishing the question. But this is not a topic specific to this particular product, but rather to robots in general. However, this improves if you use the Long Press to Talk mode, which allows you to press while asking the question and release when you finish, so that the robot can respond. Regarding the Spanish language, there are 3 variants: Spanish, Argentine Spanish, and Mexican Spanish. If a more neutral Spanish is preferred, Mexican is perfect (I'm from Chile). Highly recommended, excellent quality.
